I suddenly gained weight when a recent back injury made it difficult for me to exercise regularly. Although I tried to eat as healthy as possible, the lack of physical activity took a toll on my body. At first, I convinced myself that my clothes must have shrunk in the laundry machine, but, eventually, I accepted the fact that the extra weight went straight to me.

It was hard for me even to walk and I always paid for two on the bus. But I decided to change myself!

I decided to try a green smoothies. Maybe I knew I need something natural because I trust only myself.

I’m normally not a fan of plans like this. However, this idea caught my attention. There was some my ingredients I added. And it wasn’t a diet, more as bonus to standart meals. And to cleanse my system of all of the toxins. I imagined these smoothies clearing out all the salt, sugar, and tinsel they found stored up inside me.
So, I bought ingredients, then found my blender and I started create new myself.

Here are my recipes I used:

#1
This is a classic green smoothie recipe. It’s a spinach smoothie recipe which blends  with the  flavors of strawberry and oranges. Smoothies with spinach are some of my favorite green smoothie recipes.

Can help with metabolism boosting:
the almond milk, which contains extra protein and creaminess. Studies have shown that protein increases the thermic effect of food (TEF) due to the extra calories required to digest it.

Ingredients:

1 orange peeled
⅓ cup strawberries
1 cup raw spinach
1 cup almond milk

#2

Broccoli is a vegetable, referred to as a “veggie”. It’s high in many nutrients, including vitamin C, vitamin K, fiber, potassium and iron. Broccoli also contains more protein than most other vegetables, which possibly can gives an metabolic boost.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • cucumber

#4

This is a  green smoothie recipe that has a bright green color. It’s full of vitamin C thanks to the double dose of pineapple and oranges.

Pineapples are a source of many nutrients, such as vitamin C, manganese, copper and folate. Pineapples also contain a plant compound called bromelain, which is associated with many health benefits.

  • 1 tablespoon flax seeds
  • 1 cup spinach

#9

This is a last recipe. It has a slightly sweet flavor, with a little tanginess from the pineapple and orange.

Carrots have health benefits. They are a good source of beta-carotene, fiber, vitamin K, potassium, antioxidants and have been linked to lower cholesterol levels and can improved eye health.

Ingredients:

  • ¼ cup pineapple
  • 1 orange peeled
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 cup spinach
  • 1 tablespoon flax seeds

My two favorite smoothie recipes for weight loss that I used are the #5, which is low in calories and packed with nutrient-rich vegetables, and the #1, a filling and energizing afternoon snack. Along with a balanced diet and exercise, the influx of healthy fruits and veggies helped me lose weight and feel great.

Instead of replacing meals, I simply drank them in between my meals in place of other, less healthful snacks. I didn’t have to put in too much effort in the kitchen, but I’d change things up and try different greens in my smoothies.

By sticking to healthy habits and drinking two smoothies a day, I was able to lose weight safely!
